Summary:
The Operations Specialist is responsible for supporting all products with full lifecycle responsibility for manufacturing ? from new product concept to end-of life. This role is a critical position that balances primary interface responsibilities with Motion?s ODM vendors in Asia as well as internal influence and partnership with Product Development, Product Marketing, Operations, Procurement, Service, and Sales.
Essential Job Functions:
Responsible for creating and updating processes, supplier instructions, and BOMs under ECN control
Manage Engineering Control releases and component / product transitions
Ensure ODMs procure materials to forecasted demand plans and communicate delivery schedules of all key parts
Review ODM build-ship plans to ensure execution to standard lead time agreement, may need to help ODM create build-ship plans / recovery plans
Determine and communicate build/ship plans to key internal constituents throughout the company
Prepare monthly metric reports related to cost, quality, and on-time performance
Key interface that manages the ODM relationship
Assist in developing RFQ?s
Demonstrate ability to bring up subcontractors from concept stage to full production
Work comfortably in a high-energy, multi-vendor environment
Work collaboratively in a diverse team environment
Qualifications and Experience
Experience and Education Requirements:
B.S in Manufacturing Engineering, Supply Chain or related field. MS in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering preferred or equivalent combination of related education and experience
7-10 years of experience in New Product Introduction and/or Manufacturing Engineering or very similar experience, including DFX and industrial engineering background
Prior ODM management experience of Pegatron, Compal, Foxconn or other tier one manufacturers preferred
Manufacturing engineering experience in complex manufacturing, quick-to-market preferred
Experience in materials management, including transition management is preferred
Detailed knowledge of manufacturing, quality, logistics and contract negotiation
Team player and with strong problem solving skills
Detail-oriented ? critical skillset for this role
Demonstrated ability to proactively evaluate and manage cross functional dependencies and relationships
Self-starter and able to work independently to achieve goals under limited supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be able to travel internationally
