xMatters is experiencing explosive growth of its on demand service and is seeking creative and dynamic Systems Administrators for its Operations team. This team is responsible for implementing and managing all aspects of our customer-facing infrastructure in a high-performance production environment.
Primary areas of responsibility will include:
Handling all aspects of systems administration include installation, deployment and maintenance of hardware, operating systems, and software components
Development and ongoing support of operational processes, including configuration managements, capacity planning, service assurance, and process automation
After hours, holiday and weekend support on-call 24/7 as scheduled in rotation with other engineers
Interacting with clients during setup activities
Qualifications / Necessary Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess:
6+ years of experience in systems administration in a production environment
Strong project management/executions skills
Good written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work in cross functional teams
Experience in the following is required:
Support/deployment of 3-tiered 24/7/365 highly-available web applications
Multi-datacenter application deployment
Capacity planning, including the ability to assess production performance metrics and tuning or scaling as needed to meet stated SLAs
Configuration and maintenance of common UNIX services/applications
Administration of a SAN, including configuration, provisioning, performance and capacity management, and monitoring
Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, etc.)
Large-scale backup solutions and storage technologies
Configuration Management tools
Automation of tools for monitoring, process and documentations
Security techniques and best practices
RHEL5; CentOS 5; VMWare ESXi
Experience with any of the following is a plus:
Load balancing technologies and large-scale web server farms
Large scale email systems
Multi-datacenter virtualization deployments
Telephony systems, IVR applications
Multi-terabyte SAN (storage area network) installations
Education:
Bachelors degree or equivalent
