Optical Engineer Avo Photonics
Responsibilities
Perform optical analysis of product requirements and assist in derivation of optical, mechanical, and electrical solutions.
Create optical / laser physics models to design components and derive tolerances.
Source components and characterize upon receipt
Produce rapid-prototypes of photonic assemblies
Assist in development of volume production processes
Create and calibrate assembly/test stations
Generate and analyze experimental data. Prepare and present results.
Report directly to VP Engineering
Requirements
B.S. in Engineering or Physics
Experience building and characterizing photonic assemblies
Experience with Zemax, ASAP, GLAD or equivalent optical modeling software
Experience with scientific/engineering software analysis tools
Strong verbal and written communication skills
US Citizen

The individual must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, have the ability to coordinate work with others, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership.
