Job Description:General Photonics is a vertically integrated company with products ranging from instruments, to modules, to components. Job Responsibilities: a) Independently design, fabricate, characterize and test OCT (Optical Coherence Tomography) or fiber sensing optical components, modules and systems. Development ranging from conceptualization to prototype through production. b) Create all necessary design documentation (design requirements, specifications, reports, etc.) and procedures per company regulations. c) Analyze the root cause of problems, summarize and present the results to the team and/or customers. d) Manage product development in terms of schedule, material arrangements, tooling, fixtures, etc.
Job Requirements:MS or PhD in EE, physics, or optics and 2+ years industrial experience in the field of fiber optic instrumentation. Previous experience in OCT systems (TD-OCT, FD-OCT) and fiber sensing (sensing interrogators, etc ) is a plus. Strong theoretical analysis capability and hands-on optical experimental skills in fiber optics and free space. Strong data processing and test automation skills via LabView are mandatory. Capability of performing electronic system diagnostics with excellent problem solving and laboratory skills and knowledge of safe laboratory practices is essential. Extremely motivated and willing to work in a fast-paced environment. Straightforward, self-motivated, and trustworthy. Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.
