Role and Responsibilities
The Opto-electronic Engineer will be responsible for multi-disciplinary product development of
optical component systems and subsystems. This role shall include the following:
? Free-space optical design, prototyping, and validation.
? Component specification and qualification.
? Workstation development and automation particularly focused on optical design and
software automation.
? Process development and validation.
? DSP firmware development and integration, including automation of verification testing.
? Electronic circuit debugging and validation.
Experience and Education
? Experience with free-space optical devices. Experience with MEMs preferred.
? Experience with workstation design, development and automation. Knowledge of
Labwindows or C strongly preferred.
? Experience in DSP firmware and familiarity with TI DSPs a plus.
? Experience with digital and analog circuits.
? Excellent debugging skills.
? Knowledge of optical communication systems is a plus.
? Qualified candidates would have an MS in Electrical Engineering or a PhD in Physics or
equivalent.
