Opto-Mechanical Assembly Engineer Avo Photonics
? Create and/or follow assembly process documentation to produce various assemblies incorporating optical, mechanical and electrical components
? Operate semi-automated and manual equipment in the assembly of high-precision material placement and bonding
? Employ hands-on skills to work with small delicate components
? Create custom tooling and fixture solutions
? Perform component measurement and characterization
? Prepare associated documentation (incoming inspection reports, test plans, testing results, etc)
? Source components, fixtures and test equipment
? Produce rapid-prototypes of photonic assemblies
? Assist in development of volume production processes
? Create and calibrate assembly/test stations
? Generate and analyze experimental data. Prepare and present results.
? Minimum: B.S. in Engineering or Physics
? Experience handling and characterizing photonic assemblies (lasers, detectors, etc)
? Experience building opto-electronic or similar micro-electronic assemblies
? Clean room experience is desirable
? Very good manual dexterity: ability to handle and align small, sensitive components
? Verbal and written communication skills
? A strong interest in learning
? Experience with Excel
? US Citizen

The individual must plan his/her own work schedule, keep multiple records, be self-motivated, have the ability to coordinate work with others, maintain a professional presence, and have the desire to take ownership.
Salary shall be commensurate with experience level.
This position may occasionally require some physical activities and heavy lifting.
