Responsibilities:
The Oracle DBA will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and supporting Oracle Database instances in development, test and production environments.
Responsible for troubleshooting database server related issues (level 1 and/or 2 support).
Creates and maintains maintenance schedules for database servers. Maintains existing and implements new monitoring and alerting. Assists business staff in managing data as it is developed and moves through various environments.
Performs ad hoc queries for business and development staff. Implements and manages database change scripts. Supports development of new databases and changes to existing ones. Attends project meetings when requested.
Works closely with the database architect to implement data models and adhere to standards. Supports development and business with logical and physical models designs.
Proactively review database configuration, security, performance tuning, capacity planning, and database monitoring and ensuring production stability.
Work closely with members of our engineering and capacity and optimization groups to help define the platforms and tools used in our production environment.
Qualifications:
BS/MS degree in CS and/or equivalent work experience and 5+ years of Oracle Database administration experience, specifically:
Oracle 10g and 11 dtatabase administration including Oracle RAC.
implementing and supporting data replication with Golden Gate
installing, configuring, upgrading, and maintenance of Oracle database servers on Linux and Sun Solaris environments.
troubleshooting and correcting database issues in an efficient and timely manner mitigating all risks and ensuring uninterrupted continuation of the business flow.
documenting and enforcing all database architecture and relevant procedures according to established standards.
proactively monitoring resource utilization to ensure client response time meets expected service levels and to help ensure uninterrupted system availability.
