The Oracle DBA will be a member of a DBA team who are responsible for supporting all aspects of our 24x7x365 Oracle Database computing environment. This is an operations role, and this individual will be responsible for supporting, securing, and monitoring all database systems, and associated developer & user communities.
Responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, support and maintenance of all database systems including Production, QA, and Development server environments.
Monitoring and optimization of database performance, security, resource utilization, memory configuration, sessions, archive logs, and disk space usage.
Share support for mission-critical database instances, including responsibility for after hours on-call support for issue resolution.
Leverage Oracle expertise and knowledge by providing SQL, PL/SQL, and data expertise to developers and users.
The candidate will be expected to identify opportunities for improving system quality and implementing more efficient processes and management of databases.
Understand business drivers and strategies, and recognize opportunities for technology innovation to support strategic initiatives.
Responsible for DBA team on-call pager rotation.
4 years working in Oracle Database Administration on mid- to large-scale UNIX hosts.
2 years working in Oracle RAC Environments.
Experience in Oracle Streams or Oracle GoldenGate preferable.
Experience in Oracle 11gR2 preferable.
Experience working in UNIX environment.
Experience with Oracle DataGuard, logical and physical standby technologies.
Advanced knowledge of RDBMS architecture, SQL tuning, PL/SQL troubleshooting.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills and an interest in managing team activities.
Bachelors of Science in Computer Science or related field preferred.
