SUMMARY:
The Oracle System Administrator's role is to supervise and operate the organization's Oracle systems through implementation best practices. This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company's investments in proprietary Oracle technologies. The Oracle Administrator is also responsible for planning and coordinating the change management of processes required for the support of Oracle systems necessary for business operations. This individual will apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to solve issues related to the deployment of mission-critical Oracle software.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Strategy & Planning
- Ensure that Oracle software meets business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identifies and resolves systems issues.
- Develop and oversee the Oracle change management process across the organization in all affected areas.
- Ensure that Oracle deployment enhances operating systems, networks, telecommunications, or other areas where it is deployed.
Acquisition & Deployment
- Recommend any additional hardware or software requirements needed for successful Oracle deployments, configuration, or maintenance.
- Assign the appropriate staff to work on projects where Oracle software is involved.
- Negotiate contracts with Oracle software and service providers.
- Liaise with company's Oracle suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.
- Evaluate proposals in order to identify potential problem areas, and make the appropriate recommendations.
Operational Management
- Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy Oracle applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications throughout the enterprise.
- Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of Oracle software programs and applications.
- Ensure that any Oracle integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
- Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the Oracle system; install and configure patches and upgrades as required.
- Prepare and deliver activity and progress reports for presentation to the executive management team.
- Provide direction for the application team in support of Oracle operations.
- Coordinate feasibility studies for Oracle products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.
- Liaise with network administrators and software engineers to assist with design specifications, program logic, and data conversions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Education â€" Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or business administration, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
- Required Experience:
- At least 5 years direct experience administrating ORACLE applications.
- Proven experience in overseeing the direction, development, and implementation of ORACLE software solutions.
- Solid Unix, Oracle, AS/400, and Windows skills.
- Technically fluent in relational database administration, including MS SQL and Oracle.
- Knowledge of enterprise-level applications, including ERP, CRM, data warehouses, etc.
- Desired Skills:
- Required Experience with ORTEC Routing & Scheduling
- Experience with Oracle CRM
- Experience with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange)
- Travel Ability â€" Occasional travel needed.
- Language Ability - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively over the phone.
- Math Ability - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Reasoning Ability â€" Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office products and the internet. Also ability to work with MRP / ERP systems. Experience working with MS platform products, networking, and mail administration systems. VPN Dial-up access support. PBX, Active Directory, Exchange experience is a plus.

COMPENSATION:
- Base salary + Bonus
