Summary: The Outside Sales Representative is part of a professional sales team within a specific region. The main objective of this position is to generate revenue for its branch by establishing and maintaining accounts throughout their assigned territories.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Establishes and maintains customer accounts in set territory through personal visits, phone calls and emails.
Works closely with Inside Sales Group to give customer pricing and delivery information.
Maintains current accounts by following up on orders with customers; providing answers and information to customers as needed; investigating and resolving customer complaints.
Understands business market in territory and is up to date with competitors? trends.
Identifies, locates and calls on potential customers in assigned territory.
Works effectively through negotiation to close sales when required.
Maintains full sales call schedule and reports back to Sales Manager regarding results as required.
Works with companies that are in the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase, they specify in their design permanently installed lifting equipment such as monorail hoists, jib cranes w/ hoists, overhead cranes and including freight/cargo elevators.
Work with engineers and follow through to procurement .
To perform the job successfully, should demonstrate the following competencies:
Ability to successfully establish rapport and build effective relationships with established and new accounts.
Ability to effectively manage time and assignments.
General knowledge of wire rope products and/or lifting rental equipment is highly desirable
Ability to work independently.
Effective negotiation skills to close sales.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Professional presence and demeanor.
Ability to develop and prepare sales presentations.
Ability to excel in a competitive environment.
Education and/or Experience
High School Diploma required.
A college degree or a combination of college and experience is preferred.
At least 3 years experience and proven track record in outside sales. Preferably in the Industrial market.
