We're looking for an amazing and passionate Packaging Production Artist to join our team in NYC.
You love packaging. You find yourself scrutinizing packaging and merchandising displays as you wander through stores, and you can't help thinking that you could have designed it better. On a scale of 1 to 10, you'd rate your Adobe Illustrator skills at a 12 and you are a whiz at prepping files for print. You work well under tight deadlines and are excited about pushing Quirky's product packaging to the next level. If this sounds like you, read on.
As a Packaging Production Artist, you will
Be a member of Quirky's Strategy team, reporting to the Head of Packaging
Collaborate with team members to produce print mechanicals, mostly for but not limited to art for consumer packaging
Modify existing package designs to produce secondary versions for international sales
Create packaging mockups and other sales presentation materials
Obtain internal approvals for packaging releases
Create packing instructions for overseas factories
Help maintain the packaging portfolio
Assist the creative team with other projects as necessary
You have a college degree or a really great dropout story
You know Illustrator like the back of your hand
You have experience creating packaging layouts in Illustrator
You understand how files need to be set up before they are released to a printer
You have an eye for design and typography, but are OK with someone else making the design decisions
You have a basic understanding of die lines, packaging structures and mockups
You have a basic understanding of printing techniques
You are incredibly meticulous
You're able to take direction and run with it
You can meet tight deadlines while juggling multiple projects
You're a team player
You have excellent written and verbal communications skills and an eye for proofreading
You have a passion for what we are building at Quirky
