LegalZoom.com is looking for a corporate paralegal to be the organizational and efficiency backbone of our legal team. Responsibilities will include the following:
What you?ll do:
Improve and manage the company?s contract management system, which requires the ability to:
review, understand, and synthesize common contract provisions; and
procure, develop, and implement systems that track the lifecycle of high volume contracts from approval, negotiation, and execution to expiration and renewal.
Manage and improve internal stock option and capitalization data, documentation, and processes.
Implement, manage, and improve the legal department?s procedures, processes, and policies throughout the company.
Maintain the legal department forms and library and assist with other corporate ?housekeeping? tasks.
Assist with compliance, litigation, and due diligence.
Provide legal support for our finance team (as needed).
Manage and coordinate administrative functions within the department.
Contribute to other legal department goals and duties as needed.
Qualifications:
BA/BS Degree or Paralegal certificate.
Minimum four years? experience as a paralegal or contract administrator, with a preference for paralegals who have worked in public companies or have had significant contract management exposure.
Solid background in contracts with the ability to (a) draft form agreements and (b) review, understand, synthesize, and communicate basic provisions from various types of contracts.
Experience drafting corporate organizational documents (e.g., minutes, board resolutions, etc.).
Highest sense of professionalism and discretion. Must take professional responsibilities seriously in a casual working environment.
Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, multitask, and adapt well in a rapidly changing environment
Talent for organization, efficiency, and proactive improvement of the status quo.
Interest in and ability to identify, analyze, and recommend improvement opportunities (e.g., research software solutions to address inefficient process).
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with members of the legal team and all levels of management.
