This position is responsible for updating and keeping current the company?s proprietary databases and assisting on new database projects.Key responsibilities include:
Impact on the business
Develop an understanding of Quickcomm?s business model and processes in order to improve upon our current systems.
Work independently with little supervision to enhance current software tools.
Assist in the monitoring of production databases, servers and Web Site applications.
Customers, supplier and third parties
The ideal candidate should have the ability to excel in a team model environment and work multiple projects simultaneously.
Should be skilled in project management techniques and system development life cycle methodologies.
Must be able to communicate effectively, orally and in writing and possess excellent documentation skills.
Leadership and teamwork
Develop applications using visual development tools such as T-SQL, Visual Basic, Enterprise Manager, ASP/ VB.Net, Adobe Flex SDK and Java script. Develop well-structured code following company standards. Document enhancements made and system changes. Provide input to impact analysis on other systems.
Innovation and change
Assist junior programmers in meeting project schedules by giving direction and constructive feedback. Aid junior programmers in overcoming programming difficulties.
Handle end user support medium/large size business with telecommuters.
Essential
2-5 years? experience coding using Visual Basic, .Net platform, Adobe Flash or similar visual development tools.
Project management skills.
Understanding of relational database design and data normalization.
2-5 years? experience writing stored procedures for SQL server.
Advanced skill level with Microsoft Office.
Able to document process flow diagrams, functional vs. non-functional specifications, and database relational models
HTML / VBScript / JavaScript, Excel and Word VBA
ASP Software development or C#
Windows NT/2003/XP/7 experience such as networking, troubleshooting, installation and configuration of software.
SQL Server Reporting Services
