Information Technology Team Description
The goal of this team is to maintain TownSpot's website, video streaming, and all information technology needs. The team collectively contains our website designers, software developers, and video software engineers. The team is responsible for keeping TownSpot's website functional, fixing bugs, adding new features, and new development, maintaining video systems, and any and all improvements or modifications to further the development of TownSpot's website and information technology.
Job Description - PHP Senior Web Developer
Overview
This will not be a typical IT position. This work is part-time (10 hours per week) based and you are able to work from your home! As long as you are hitting your project deadlines, you can work your own hours, from your own location.
Our ideal candidate will be an individual currently working in PHP web development & coding that is looking to grow their resume, find a position with high-growth potential, and become a leader in their industry. You must have excellent interpersonal communication skills, an entrepreneurial attitude, and proficient problem solving skills.
Responsibilities
You will be working as our Senior Web Developer answering to our Lead Web Developer. You will be responsible for maintaining the existing TownSpot website and web technologies as well as developing all new web code for expansions and changes to the website. TownSpot is constantly evolving and therefore web development will be active and a combination of streamlining existing features while also coding new ones.
Following direction from the Lead Web Developer, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding our content management system, frameworks, front end pages, interactive web features, and all new development.
TownSpot is a PHP based website, so fluent PHP coding experience is necessary for this position (specific technologies outlined in next section). Our website's primary purpose is in serving videos via our website, so experience with integrating video players into php websites is beneficial.
-- Develop plan and analysis for existing development process as well as implement changes to better maximize our processes.
-- Fix and respond to any code related gaps, errors, or areas for improvement.
-- Attend a 1 hour weekly meeting with team leader
-- Minimum of 10 hours per week work time
-- Communicate well and able to work on assignments diligently and with resolve
-- Have experience with setting up online video delivery and/or streaming video (preferred not required)
-- Have knowledge of JWPlayer 5 and how to serve videos from our servers through the player. (Preferred not required)
-- Be able to code PHP video related elements. (Preferred not required)

Compensation will be a combination of a weekly fee for your 10 hours of work plus equity ownership in the company. To be discussed based off your experience and interview.
