Purpose and Scope
The Quality Control Assistant provides reliable assistance in carrying out Quality Control functions in the QC Scanning and Lab area.
Responsibilities
1. Equipment maintenance and calibration
2. Assists in QC procedures for testing product.
3. Assists Scanning department with scanning product.
4. Stocks lab supplies and test reagents.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.
Organization Relationships
1. Reports directly to Supervisor, Quality Control.
2. Serves in a backup role for QC technicians.
Requirements:
Education and Training
The qualified candidate has:
1. a high school diploma with work experience in a related field preferred.
Technical Requirements
The qualified candidate has:
1. knowledge of aseptic technique.
Experience and Skills
The qualified candidate has:
1. basic algebra knowledge.
2. report writing skills.
3. computer experience with Microsoft Office or equivalent.
4. experience with operating laboratory equipment.
Physical Requirements
1. Handling of blood borne pathogens (viral and bacterial) as well as infectious or potentially infectious bodily fluids, tissues, and samples.
2. The work environment characteristics are representative of both an office and laboratory environment.
3. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
4. Standing, sitting, walking, and use of hands and fingers.
5. Lifts 15 lbs routinely.
