Description:Passport Health Communications, Inc., a nationally recognized pioneer developing innovative solutions for the healthcare industry and one of Healthcare Informatics Top 100 Healthcare Companies, is seeking a Patient Payment Analyst to join the Oakbrook Terrace location.
The Patient Payment Analyst (PPA) reads and interprets managed care contracts, extracts reimbursement terms and enters terms into the Patient Payment Estimator or ContractSimple system.
Duties:?Entering contracts and terms into the PPE/Contracts system database. Terms are not always obvious and may require discussion with clients and/or other team members.
?Periodic Client phone calls or emails clarifying and/or discussing contract terms.
?Interact with team members; attend meetings and/or conference calls to discuss contract issues.
?Track progress of several projects simultaneously and produce deliverables according to schedule.
?General understanding of the PPE/Contracts systems in order to recommend improvements and identify issues found during testing.
Other Duties as Required.
Qualifications:? Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
?The PPA needs to have direct experience with or ability to learn the PPE/Contract tools for contract entry.
?Prior hospital patient accounting experience preferred, but not required
Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
?Experience and knowledge of managed care contract terminology
?Familiar with hospital billing code sets (revenue, CPT, DRG, etc.)
?PC skills including Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel and Word.
?Professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
?Detail-oriented, self-starter, well-organized and able to prioritize tasks
?Ability to work with minimal supervision.
