JOB DESCRIPTION
Patient Representative (PT or Chiropractic experience preferred)
Hours: M&W's 12p-7p FR-11-5p
SUMMARY:
Perform responsibilities under general and direct supervision of the Patient Coordinator
Provide clerical, secretarial and receptionist support independently and with minimal supervision
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure appointment and scheduling practices are followed properly
Schedule, greet, and escort patients and visitors to the appropriate areas of the clinic
Confirm and explain patient financial responsibility to the patient and/or family
Process payroll accurately and according to procedures
Collect required insurance co-payments, document in the computer system, and reconcile to the daily schedule
Reconcile deposit to the daily schedule and prepare the deposit for banking purposes
Deposit daily receipts at the designated bank
Screen and refer incoming phone calls and clinic visitors to ensure accurate, timely, and positive clinic communication, facilitation, and presentation
Coordinate and maintain patient extended authorizations and updated prescriptions to ensure proper treatment and billing procedures
Maintain appropriate records, filing, and archive system for expeditious information retrieval
Assist with proper ordering of clinical supplies, office supplies, and other needed materials
Demonstrate regard for the dignity and respect of all patients, family members, staff, and visitors
Respect and understand the patient?s right to treatment and right to involvement in treatment decisions
Maintain proper attendance and punctuality to ensure the clinic is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner
Perform daily walk through of clinic to maintain ?Clean Audit? policies and procedures
Adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and recordkeeping
Route charts and records to appropriate areas in a timely and accurate manner
Maintain and notify the Central Business Office of all changes in patient demographics, diagnosis, and any other pertinent information in an extremely accurate manner
Maintain proper, courteous, and helpful telephone etiquette
Assist Physical Therapist Director, Physical Therapists, etc. as needed
Demonstrate efficient time management allowing for flexibility and the ability to work as a team member and in an organized manner
Perform other diverse duties as requested or required
