Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform the day-to-day compilation of missing edit reports.
Call physician offices to obtain missing information for medical billing.
Manage the missing information process and ensure that all edits are resolved in a timely fashion.
Monitor and correct clearinghouse edits.
Verify that transactions comply with financial policies and procedures.
Rely on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
Work under immediate supervision.
Perform other tasks and duties as assigned.
High school diploma or its equivalent, with two plus years of experience in a medical office setting and minimum of three years of medical-related billing experience.
Excellent data entry, typing, and organizational skills, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, and previous experience with at least one billing system.
Communicates effectively with the referring physician staff.
Must be thoroughly familiar with CPT and ICD coding.
Excellent physician/customer service and follow-through skills.
Highly organized and courteous.
Knowledge of commonly-used accounting concepts, practices, and procedures.
Polished professional with good interpersonal, grammatical, spelling, proofreading, telephone etiquette, and social skills.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
Ability to use diplomacy and handle sensitive and confidential matters discreetly, exhibiting honesty, integrity, discretion, and sound judgment at all times.
Good organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities, projects, and workflow.
Attention to detail, with a commitment to excellence and high standards.
Knowledge of general office concepts, practices, and procedures.
Ability to deal effectively with a diversity of individuals at all organizational levels.
Ability to work on projects with general direction and minimal guidance, managing multiple priorities through to completion in a timely manner.
