With a certain degree of creativity, latitude, and under general supervision of the Director of Payer Relations & Contracting, the position will entail building and managing the relationship with third party payers, assuring the timeliness and accuracy of provider applications, and will expedite and assure provider agreements are maintained in an effort to facilitate proper billing and collection of company claims. Responsibilities include monitoring payer websites and communications to assure billing management maintains proper billing procedures and makes changes in procedures needed to keep up with payer changes in requirements. The position will resolve managed care operational issues with third party payers such as billing, ERA, EFT and any other items that cause claims disruption. Individual will participate in the development, expansion and implementation of the Managed Care Program. Duties include: Review Provider Participation Agreements and maintain contracts; Prepare network applications for credentialing; Participate in the development and negotiation, implementation, and monitoring of managed care agreements; Acquire and maintain contracted payer fee schedules and payer lists; Assist with payer required facility credentialing; Assist Management with initiatives; Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Skills:
Bachelors degree preferred, with a financial discipline.
Must have minimum 3-5 years of experience related to credentialing, provider relations, network development, medical claims, third party insurance billing and/or collection activity, preferably in a supervisory or management capacity. Other financial management experience in a healthcare environment is helpful.
Ability to communicate effectively with Atherotech sales/billing personnel and managed care/independent contractor personnel both in person and over the phone. Must be results oriented with a professional attitude and be driven to accomplish difficult tasks and effectively expand our provider network.
Must be Windows competent and be proficient with M/S Office software, especially Excel; Intermediate to Advanced Excel proficiency is required.
Must work well independently and in a team environment, understand and maintain a high level of security and confidentiality, be highly organized with good decision making skills and maintain a sense of urgency in meeting deadlines and accomplishing an expanded provider network nationwide. Understanding of legal entity and ownership structure in a corporate environment is helpful.
