About the Ops Team The Etsy Ops team is a fluid and dynamic group. We work tightly with all of the development groups to bring a "full-stack" perspective on how the application and infrastructure are working together to provide availability and performance while still allowing for the great amount of change we want. The team strives for situational awareness; we know that failure happens, and sometimes we even cause them to happen on purpose. Being nice is a requirement. You will likely learn more about collaboration at Etsy than you have anywhere else. The current team has bow hunters, marathon runners, and an award-winning sound engineer on it.
About the Job
Building and maintaining Etsy's Payments Infrastructure, from iron to production
Ownership of the Payments Ops roadmap and partnering with the Payments development teams
Full partnerships with Production Ops, Payments, Security, and Risk development teams
Ownership and direction of Business Continuity Planning (BCP) including data protection, disaster recovery design, and contingency planning
Tightly cooperating and collaborating with Product, Legal, Community and Support groups
RTO and RPO responsibilities with respect to the protection, retention, and recovery of all Etsy data, including Etsy Payments
PCI-DSS and other compliance processes, including domestic and international concerns
Includes hands-on technical work as well as managing direct reports
About You
Experience with PCI-DSS and other financial compliance fundamentals and processes
Knowledge of the field of payments and compliance, and bring first principles to the infrastructure and process
Experience with infrastructure and architecture design and build-out
Experience managing third-party relationships including auditors, fraud detection, etc.
Mature grasp of Linux, the LAMP software stack, networking concepts, and database management
Demonstrated ability as an Engineering Manager
