About the Job
The following is a representative description of the position?s role and responsibilities. Reflecting the flexible nature of our work, Nexant will adjust this description as necessary to meet operating and strategic needs of its business.
Nexant is seeking an individual to manage and coordinate all incentive fulfillment payment processing activities for its utility-sponsored energy efficiency programs.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage, coordinate, and handle high volume payment processing operations for Business Processing Unit. Payment processing activities include upload of payments into corporate financial software, check creation, handling, and mailing.
Supervise, train and develop payment processing staff to defined goals and metrics.
Perform monthly, quarterly, and year end activities, including: bank reconciliation review, rebate fund validation, monitoring of voided and un-cashed checks, check stock and tax form inventory, accurate and timely escheatment and 1099 reporting.
Ensure adherence to established accounting procedures, internal controls, and company policies;
Review and approve major or unusual transactions and adjustments in accordance with company policies and procedure; ensuring that all post batch adjustments are authorized and handled appropriately in the accounting system.
Management of rebate escrow accounts to ensure that funds are disbursed in accordance with contractual obligations
Play a key role in developing, improving, and supporting business unit procedures and policies.
Meet and coordinate regularly with Corporate Finance team to ensure that internal services provided meet functional organization?s service goals and deadlines. Knowledge and implementation of escheatment laws (by state), including returning funds as required by law.
Develop, extract, transformation and loading procedures for implementing data integration and data migration tasks in support of other data integration projects.
Provide executive summary analysis of KPI on Business Process performance to BP Project Manager.
Identify areas of concern in compliance & escalate to Compliance Manager.
QA/QC procedures, batch processes, scheduling; troubleshooting problems and making suggestions for performance tuning and system integrity.
Support and mentor Jr. Staff.
Work with functional groups on program specific reporting.
Willing to serve on any program
Other duties as directed.
Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business is required
5+ years of relevant experience, including three years of Accounts Payable, Bookkeeping or Accounting experience and at least two years of supervising high-volume Accounts Payable team.
Relevant technical knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles and practices; prior accounts payable supervisory experience is highly desirable.
Broad base of knowledge and experience related to maintaining moderately complex manual and computerized record systems.
Superior administrative, organizational, attention-to-detail and supervisory skills
Demonstrated advanced proficiency with MS Office programs, including Excel, Word, Power Point and Outlook; ability to create, maintain and edit reports and documents.
Ability to deal effectively with internal and external personnel.
Excellent writing, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
Experience using a major ERP system and the aptitude to learn and become proficient using company proprietary computer software is required.
Able to meet deadlines and anticipate difficulty in meeting deadlines.
Experience supporting internal and external audits is a plus
Must be able to pass a criminal and financial background screening
