The Payroll/AP Accountant is responsible for the preparation and processing of LTI?s semi-monthly payroll as well as support of a portion of the Company?s Accounts Payable. This role is also responsible for executing and managing accounting transactions, reconciliations, analysis, and financial reporting activities related to compensation and benefit areas of the Company?s financials.
Reports to: Corporate Controller
Payroll (approximately 60%):
Prepare and process semi-monthly payroll (exempt & non-exempt) using ADP PayExpert.
Handle all garnishments, deductions, payroll tax withholding changes, and paid time off (PTO) transactions and accrual.
Maintain accurate payroll records and employee files including detailed manufacturing (Job Costing) information.
Review computed wages and correct errors to ensure the accuracy of earnings. Ensure that all changes to payroll are processed correctly.
Work closely with Human Resources to ensure accurate compensation rates, reporting structure, and benefit deductions ? both welfare and 401K Plan.
Ensure accurate and timely payrolls are processed in ADP and ERP systems and 401(K) contributions are made to the 401(K) administrator by effectively prioritizing tasks.
Reconcile payroll and review the accuracy of payroll earnings and deductions.
Ensure accurate payroll codes are set up correctly in ADP PayExpert.
Process manual checks as requested by Human Resources.
Maintain employee confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual external reporting requirements and audit schedules.
Respond to employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll matters.
Complete EDD or other state agency audit forms or benefits audit paperwork.
Perform other duties and special projects as requested by management.
AP (approximately 40%):
Validate and process invoices or other demands for payments.
Work closely with vendors and internal personnel to resolve issues.
Analyze and timely resolve aged accounts.
Reconcile AP accounts on a monthly basis.
Prepare AP month-end accrual.
Assist in audit requests.
Solid understanding of applicable Federal, State, and Local payroll, and related tax laws, regulations, and statutes.
Excellent accounting reconciliation and analysis skills.
Skilled in evaluating and analyzing technical payroll activities.
Self motivated and able to work independently and with minimal supervision
Experienced and successful in working in a collaborative team environment
Must be organized, and have the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast paced environment.
High attention to detail and strong focus on accuracy in work
Proficient in MS Excel.
3- 5 years experience multi state payroll processing and reporting with ADP PayExpert, for 150+ employees.
Expertise in "Full Cycle Payroll" including benefits deductions and garnishments.
Experience in manufacturing environment highly desirable.
General Accounting experience required.
Accounts payable experience a plus.
Experience in Expandable ERP a plus.
Experience with stock administration a plus.
