Payroll/Compensation Specialist
Summary of opportunity:
EdgeCast is the world's fastest and most reliable content delivery network (CDN). The company was founded in 2006 by technology entrepreneurs with years of experience building companies in the infrastructure, web services, and application delivery spaces. We built our global delivery network to provide the fastest, smartest content delivery on the planet. We are looking to fill the position of Payroll/Incentive Compensation Specialist within our finance and accounting group. This position will report to the Controller and will involve all aspects of multi-state payroll processing and incentive compensation plan administration.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills. The bulk of the responsibilities for this role are the management and analysis of a complex incentive compensation plan for the Company?s sales staff.
Implement and administer comprehensive and complex incentive compensation in accordance with the Company?s incentive compensation plan
Provide incentive comp analysis for management review
Manage and process payroll on an accurate and timely basis including hourly pay processing
Respond in a timely manner to employee payroll and incentive compensation inquiries
Process garnishments and federal and state tax levies
Prepare monthly vacation liability report and payroll trend analysis
Maintain employee payroll files
Assist accounts payable department with invoice entry, employee expense report processing, credit card reconciliations, and ad hoc projects as needed
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education:
Bachelor?s degree required, preferably in Finance or Accounting
Technical Skills and Prior Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience processing payroll or accounts payable
Must have strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with a high degree of professionalism
Working knowledge of employment-related laws and federal and state payroll tax regulations
Experience with payroll software implementation a plus
Ability to communicate with various levels of management
Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
Highly responsible, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong work ethic and interpersonal skills required
Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
