In addition, you will also answer employee inquiries and requests regarding payroll, stock, and time and attendance. Key objectives for this role:
Develop a plan for scaling the payroll function in a high growth environment
Lead the payroll conversion from ADP to UltiPro
Select and lead the implementation of a new equity management system
Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for US employees with a possible expansion of responsibilities to include international payroll
Process all payroll changes (new employee, changed deductions, terminations, out of state employees, compensation, etc.) in ADP
Ensure the Company is properly handling payroll taxes and withholdings
Work closely with Human Resources on payroll and stock related issues
Prepare the necessary journal entries, monthly reconciliations and reports related to payroll, equity and other general ledger accounting
Participate in the preparation of forecasts for payroll and benefits to include payroll cash requirements in support of the Company?s cash forecasting process
Process employee equity transactions, including grants, exercises, terminations, cancellations and other transactions
Work with external auditors throughout the year for year-end financial statement audit and quarterly reviews, workers? compensation audit, 401K audit, etc.
Develop and maintain payroll and equity policies, processes and controls to ensure the compliance with regulatory and reporting requirements
Maintain and ensure ongoing compliance with accounting policies, procedures and Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) internal control documentation
Maintain high level of customer service by communicating with all levels of employees and working with service providers to meet functional objectives
The ideal candidate will have:
5+ years of payroll experience
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance
Positive attitude and excellent communication skills
Expert knowledge of payroll processing systems (ADP, UltiPro)
Experience implementing a new payroll and equity management system
