Direct the team administering the organization's payroll across all locations. Develop and implement policies to ensure accurate and timely delivery of payroll. Maintain compliance with local and federal regulations. Provide guidance on ad hoc reporting for management requests. Serve as a liaison to vendors, auditors, and local and federal agencies. Broad knowledge of the field with proven leadership skills.
The payroll process is inclusive of the regulatory reporting which is accomplished with ADP; additional responsibilities include systems integration and maintaining data validity within the Human Resources and Benefits system, Time and Attendance, Expense Reporting and Payexpert (payroll) systems.
The Payroll Manager will interact closely with other team members in Availity to provide the highest quality of financial customer service and may be called upon to serve in multiple roles in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial corporate environment.
Create, update, and maintain current systems for payroll, expense reporting (Concur) and Time and Attendance. This involves adding new employees to all systems, ensuring that employee status changes are appropriately tracked and maintained, and troubleshooting any and all problems.
Ensure that payroll procedures are maintained in accordance with federal, state and corporate regulations through continued education and awareness. Continually improve the process.
Prepares weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports for management.
Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides General Ledger support.
Distribute monthly data to Availity and Strategic partners.
Conducting primary and secondary data research including various transaction data, payer/provider data, market research data, etc.
Serves as liaison between Availity finance department and other Availity departments on payroll issues.
Maintain procedural documentation.
Develop new project codes within the Time and Attendance module.
Develop and provide reporting from Time and Attendance to track project resource utilization for billing and capital purposes.
Maintain payroll files in accordance with regulations.
Assist Human Resources as needed.
Maintain procedural documentation.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Required)
5 ? 7 years of accounting or finance business experience, including payroll processing experience.
6+ years working as a Payroll Specialist and/or Manager, with at least one year of leadership responsibility.
Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations related to payroll processing and time and attendance
Ability to apply knowledge of accounting, finance, and management skills.
Knowledge of and ability to apply concepts/regulations of payroll, wage and hour, and time attendance and remain current on the required information.
Skilled in analyzing and interpreting financial data
Ability to work with large amounts of data in various forms.
Strong relationship, management and collaboration skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently under minimal or no guidance.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Demonstrated ability to use discretion and make sound decisions.
Ability to work under pressure, maintain composure and professionalism in an interrupt-driven environment.
WORK EXPERIENCE & SKILLS (Preferred)
Experience with Concur T&E Reporting
Experience with Time Reporting systems
Knowledge of accounting concepts, techniques and principles.
Experience working with EDI and web processing functions.
Experience in the writing of detailed technical documentation, specifically business requirements and functional specifications.
Experience working in an entrepreneurial company
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION (Required)
Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.
