Payroll Manager Merced Systems

The responsibilities include, but not limited to: oversight of payroll policies and procedures, ensures compliance with federal and state labor and tax regulations, 401IK audit, and compliance reporting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Payroll processing:
Preparation and review of all payroll policies and procedures for the Americas.
Review and approval of semi-monthly payroll for over 1,000 employees in accordance with company pay policies.
Review and maintain company?s time and attendance interface with payroll. Investigate any discrepancies.
Close coordination with Human Resources management to ensure accuracy in employee pay.
Review of garnishments.
Review and approval of payroll journal entries.
Work with third party administrators for 401K and benefits and provide required information on a timely basis.
Process and approve tax withholdings for restricted stock or stock option vesting.
Tax Compliance:
Review ADP quarterly tax statement.
Process Oregon tax withholdings.
On an annual basis, review and approve W-2?s, incorporating any adjustments such as 3rd Party Sick Pay. Also, reconcile W-2? to the appropriate ADP reports.
Work with ADP on any tax notifications and resolve any discrepancies timely.
Direct and support the daily activities of the payroll analysts.
Other:
Review and preparation of month-end reports required by Finance and Human Resources and provide any additional analysis as requested.
Sarbanes Oxley ? ensure all controls are being applied. On a quarterly basis, review controls and recommend any changes, if necessary.
Audit ? provide support the annual 401K audit, internal and external, and any external tax agencies.
Resolve all inquiries timely.
Special projects, as needed.
Knowledge and Skills:
ADP Payforce
Excel
Proficient knowledge in payroll law and industry trends including federal and state payroll law.
Proven leader in Payroll Management.
Proven ability to manage and motivate staff in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Proficient in communication with employees and related departments needed for work collaboration.
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Solid understanding of current methodologies designed to provide ultimate service to employees and management.
Must exhibit extreme discretion in keeping knowledge confidential
Strong tact and diplomacy and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor?s degree- Accounting, Finance or Business.
10 - 15 years experience in Payroll, over 7 years in a supervisory capacity.
CPP ? Certified Payroll Professional
ADP experience
Proven ability to effectively communicate and influence at all levels of an organization.
