Payroll Tax Analyst CheckPoint HR

As a Payroll Tax Analyst you will work with the Payroll Tax Manager to service our clients by resolving complex tax issues and function as a liaison between clients and the payroll tax vendor (Empower). You will serve as a resident subject matter expert within payroll tax processes and payroll tax compliance as it relates to Federal, State and Local taxes.
Responsibilities:
Additional responsibilities include:
Client maintenance- Resolve tax compliance related notices received by clients in a timely manner by closely working with the tax vendor to ensure client satisfaction.
Payroll Interface Maintenance- Review/ Research discrepancies between payroll system and tax vendor system to bring both systems in sync. Analyze fall outs and take corrective measure to avoid recurrence.
Tax research - Research and troubleshoot tax errors.
Training and Development ? Participate in knowledge development of Client Service, Implementation and Tax team members.
Customer Service- Support payroll Client Services team members with issue resolution on open tax matters. Communicate tax matters to clients and internal team members.
Operation Support - Provide and assist in process improvement; prepare status reports to Payroll Tax Manger and senior management. Ensure service levels are being met.
Work on special projects as assigned by tax manager.
Qualifications:
Requirements
The ideal candidate must meet the following criteria:
Possess a college degree or have 3 years or more within the Payroll Tax function.
Have at least three (3) years experience /concentration in payroll tax administration or compliance.
Have experience utilizing a computerized payroll application.
Must have superb customer service and client management skills.
Strong organizational, project and time management skills.
CPP designation a plus!
