Seeking a charismatic and knowledgeable Product Consultant to help Plateau build value and contribute to securing technical and functional wins during the sales cycle. The Pre-Sales Product Consultant's primary responsibility is to enable the sales team to drive license and services revenue by spending time with clients to learn about their business requirements and developing solutions to address those business requirements.
Job Duties include:
o Work with the sales/account team to understand and clarify customer's business and functional requirements and their selection criteria for learning management and content development solutions
o Dialog with customer representatives and review documentation to discover and document customers technical requirements for learning management and content development solutions as well as IT infrastructure and integration requirements
o Design a solution that addresses the customers objectives, articulates the value proposition, and eliminates technical or functional obstacles
o Customize and deliver in-depth presentations about product functionality, architecture, customization/implementation and application integration
o Customize and deliver product demos that are relevant to specific customers and industries
o Work with the account team to develop and deliver proposals in response to RFPs, RFIs and other inquiries
o Act as primary presales interface to the Professional Services organization by documenting implementation and customization requirements and then transitioning the account to the implementation team
o Team with Account Managers and Management to develop customer relationships, sales strategies/objectives, and build the value proposition
o Share technical information and best practices with other Product Consultants and other company colleagues
o Provide feedback to Product Management and Marketing regarding customer needs and competitive intelligence
Required Qualifications:
o Expert knowledge of functionality and architecture of talent management applications focused on:
+ Learning management systems
+ Performance management
+ Succession planning and career development
+ Compensation management
o Experience with reporting and analytical packages highly desirable
o Content development or e-learning applications experience is a plus
o A minimum 5 years experience in pre-sales or related roles
o Experience with selling, deploying and integrating enterprise-class applications
o Excellent writing, speaking and presentation skills
o Knowledge of enabling technology such as J2EE, web/application servers, and Oracle DBMS
o Strong technical design and problem solving skills
o Ability to work closely in a team-selling environment with internal and external customers as well as other company colleagues
o This individual should be highly self-motivated, independent and professional
o Experience working remotely for a U.S. based company and manager highly desirable
o Willing to be flexible and adapt to customer needs
o Minimum of 50 travel.
