Job Duties include:o Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications
o Support and/or install software applications
o Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
o Employ commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in software development, particularly in J2EE
o Conform to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
o Work independently at times and sometimes under supervision
o Primary job functions do require exercising independent judgment at times
o Typically reports to a senior/lead engineer or a manager
o A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required
Required Qualifications:
5 years of overall software development experience, 2+ years in Java (or 1+ years and a Masters degree)
Expert in front-end technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, JSP and JavaScript
1 year of hands-on architecture and development experience in J2EE including JSP, Servlet, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JNDI and Struts (Apache)
Working knowledge of OOA/OOD, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle
Hands-on experience in SOAP/WSDL/UDDI
Working experience in more than one of the following market-leading application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere, SunOne, Oracle 9iAS, Jboss/Tomcat
Working experience on either Oracle 8i/9i or DB2 8.1
Working knowledge on XML, DTD/Schema, SAX/DOM and Java programming with XML
Enthusiastic, reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
B.S. in Computer Science; Masters Degree preferred.
