Job Duties include:o Design, modify, develop, write and implement software programming applications
o Support and/or install software applications
o Participate in the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software
o Employ commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures in software development, particularly in J2EE
o Conform to instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job
o Occasionally modify existing guidelines/procedures as well as establish new ones
o Work independently most of the time
o Primary job functions do require exercising independent judgment
o Typically reports to a lead architect or development director and generally manages a group of software engineers
o Relies on experience and judgment to secure resources, plan the work effort and accomplish stated goals
o A greater degree of creativity and latitude is required
Required Qualifications:
o 6 years of overall software development experience, 4+ years in Java (or 2 + years and a Masters degree)
o 3+ years of hands-on architecture and development experience in J2EE including JSP, Servlet, EJB, JMS, JDBC, JNDI and Struts (Apache)
o Thorough understanding of OOA/OOD, UML, design patterns and software development life cycle
o Expert in front-end technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS, JSP and JavaScript
o Hands-on experience in SOAP/WSDL/UDDI
o Solid experience in more than one of the following market-leading application servers: WebLogic, WebSphere, SunOne, Oracle 9iAS, Jboss/Tomcat
o Solid experience on either Oracle 8i/9i or DB2 8.1
o Strong knowledge on XML, DTD/Schema, SAX/DOM and Java programming with XML
o Enthusiastic, reliable individual with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
o B.S. in Computer Science required; Masters Degree preferred.
