The Penguin Press is seeking an Associate Marketing Manager/Marketing Manager to oversee all marketing for its amazing list of hardcover books. The Penguin Press publishes literary nonfiction and select fiction and is home to many best-selling authors including Niall Ferguson, Ron Chernow, Steve Coll, Nate Silver, Phil Jackson, Michael Pollan, Thomas Pynchon, Zadie Smith, and many more!
Specifically, the Associate Marketing Manager/Marketing Manager:
Plans and implements creative marketing campaigns for all titles in conjunction with the Associate Publisher
Writes ad copy and works to book print, radio and online ad campaigns
Maintains all Penguin Press social networks and website
Assists Associate Publisher in coordinating launch meetings, planning meetings and sales conference including creating Title Information packets, booklets and promotional materials, sell sheets; liaising with editorial and managing editorial to adhere to deadlines; and communicating all relevant information to sales
Creates and circulates weekly marketing report to other members of the imprint
Attends weekly publicity/marketing meetings and various imprint and author meetings
Researches marketing opportunities for titles across the list
Maintains separate budgets for each title and processes invoices
4 year college degree or equivalent experience required
Minimum of 3 years prior related experience in book marketing
Highly organized with a strong attention to detail
Fluency in online participation, including social networks, website and blog outreach, daily website maintenance
Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
Proficient with Word and Excel
This position will be based in New York, NY.
