Kiva is seeking a talented and motivated individual to contribute to the customer engagement process as a Performance & Configuration Tools (PCT) Software Engineer. Kiva PCT Engineers are responsible for developing and maintaining the internal and client-facing tools and reports that support Client Performance (CP), Configuration/Integration/Test (CIT), and client operations. The tools and product customizations applied by the PCT Engineers provide rapid-response bug workarounds, new product feature prototypes, data accessibility, analysis, and presentation, and the installed site performance and configuration tracking that allows Kiva to quickly and efficiently meet the specific needs of our diverse client base.
A successful candidate will have the interest and drive to create small stand-alone tools that solve major customer or Kiva internal challenges. Help us build the Kiva app library!
The PCT Engineer will be responsible for:
Building on core product functionality with customer-facing tools and product customizations produced via rapid, agile development
Working with Product Management to formalize features and functionality prototyped in the Client Performance and CIT groups.
Developing tools and models that support or enable the installed site performance improvement goals of the CP team, or enhance the efficiency of the CIT group
Maintaining existing tools as CP/CIT needs evolve and database schemas and data APIs change with new product releases
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:
Undergraduate or advanced degree in software engineering
2+ years experience in tool or small application development preferred
Familiarity with Java, Linux, Perl, Bash, Python, MySQL, PHP, JSON, JavaScript, and other automation, data API, and visualization tools and languages
Experience and comfort with an agile development process
Ability to creatively solve problems using elegant, well documented, testable solutions
Demonstrated ability to work in rapidly changing startup environment
