POSITION SUMMARY:
The NaviNet Web site supports tens of thousands of concurrent user sessions. We require low latency and high concurrency in all NaviNet software components that reside within our Service Federation, including our caching and database layers that support thousands of requests per second.
A Performance Test Engineer is responsible for measuring and describing the behavior of the NaviNet system. They create and execute modular, reusable testswithin our controlled performance lab using Segue Silk Performer and other tools. The goal is to identify performance and scalability concerns and present solutions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized and focused with ability to prioritize his / her workload. In addition, our engineers are expected to be self-starters who can operate well under a variety of different situations and types of projects, ranging from a team of one to a team of many. Good problem-solving and excellent communication skills are a must, along with the items described in the lists below.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Build and configure test systems
Research, analyze, organize, design and develop test plans/cases and break complex tasks into actionable steps
Execute complete test plans and generate thorough documentation combining data from multiple sources into test summary reports
Compare test results and thoroughly document bugs or performance issues in a timely fashion
Demonstrate good judgment to help ensure that the resulting product is maintainable, efficient, and expandable
Identify problems, issues, collect and integrate information from a variety of sources to establish a course of action and communicate the issue and solutions clearly and concisely

REQUIREMENTS
Minimum of 1 year of experience doing performance work, plus more than 2 years in software testing.
Must be well versed in software testing methodologies such as developing test plans and identifying and documenting bugs.
Experience with test scripting/automation and also performance testing methodologies.
Prior experience testing web systems using IIS, SQL Server and Windows 2k/2k5/2k8.
Solid understanding of the Windows OS platform including capability to build and configure systems.
BS or MS in Computer Science or Degree in a similar field.

Must be proactive, self-motivated, attentive to detail, and able to work well under pressure
Strong communication skills
Willingness to work as part of a team
Strong documenting skills ? able to both summarize test results into simple concise summary reports and create thorough descriptions of test configurations and data analysis
Able to work with little supervision
