Job Title: PET Research Scientist
Reports To: Assistant Director, Clinical Imaging Operations (Diagnostics)
Assess the qualifications and capabilities of potential PET imaging centers via on-site visits to perform phantom imaging and analysis, and establish capabilities of site imaging staff as they relate to the performance of a given clinical protocol.
Provide recommendations to management of appropriate centers to initiate and expedite the conduct of clinical/imaging trials with respect to PET imaging, data collection and analysis of imaging data.
Contribute to all operational aspects of assigned clinical/imaging trials, with respect to writing and implementing imaging protocols, imaging management plans, imaging charters and training all PET imaging site staff and internal staff and monitors in protocol specific imaging procedures for clinical/imaging trials.
Manage assigned imaging sites for clinical/imaging trials and CRO?s with respect to image acquisition, reconstruction parameters and file transfer.
Support ?Image Research Associate? in quality control of imaging data.
Maintain project timelines during the planning, initiation, ongoing/active and study completion stages of clinical trials with respect to imaging data collection and analysis.
Act as the primary contact with imaging sites throughout the duration of all current trials. This position may require periods of intensive travel, especially during site qualification, first patient imaging sessions and site remediation. Should expect an average of 50% travel.
Assist in education and training of internal colleagues and external vendors.
Certified nuclear medicine technologist (CNMT or RT(N)) with extensive PET experience.
Minimum five years of experience as a PET technologist. Clinical research experience, preferably in pharmaceutical development or a clinical research organization. .
Strong computer skills (Office applications, imaging software) and ability to develop additional computer skills to support image management
Able to manage multiple and competing priorities through effective organizational, people, and time management skills
Understanding of GCPs, GIPs required.
Excellent written and oral communication skills required.
Experience in site qualification, site set up, site management and site remediation during clinical trials.
Experience with multiple PET, PET/CT manufacturers and formats a plus.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Overnight travel will be required and is estimated at 60%
