Responsible with accepting pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical products returned from the LTC facilities and issuing credit for returned products when criteria are met.
Responsible for retrieving returned medication totes from the loading dock.
Responsible for the triage of medications based on company?s return policy and procedures.
Issues credits and destroy medications as based on the company?s credit and return policy and procedures.
Responsible for the scanning of return medications into the pharmacy network system, applying applicable reason codes for medications not eligible for credits.
Prepares return medications for pharmacist review prior to restocking.
Assists in performing pharmacy inventory as directed.
Actively contributes to the evaluation and continuous improvement of client services, policies and procedures.
Assists with ensuring safety policy and procedures are practiced and adhered.
Enforces all company and departmental policies and procedures.
10. Complies with all applicable state and federal regulations related to pharmacy practices.
Participates in special projects to identify and implement operational improvements.
Ability to work with others in a positive productive manner anticipates and responds to the positions areas of responsibilities.
Other duties as assigned or directed.
High School graduate or equivalent required.
Current National/State Pharmacy Certification
Registration with MI Board of Pharmacy desired
Basic computer knowledge skills required, basic understanding of medical terminology, math and analytical skills.
Minimum of one (1) year working as a pharmacy technician in a Long Term Care pharmacy, hospital, retail or other health care pharmacy preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and written with English as the primary language.
Must be dependable with ability to be flexible, function independently and works under pressure with multiple tasks and deadlines. Must have strong organizational, customer service, and time management skills, ability to problem solve.
This position must exhibit maturity in judgment, will work under the supervision of the Pharmacy Technician Manager.
