We are looking for candidates with a fashion/lifestyle background, a stellar still life portfolio, and strong organizational skills. A focus and interest in men's is necessary, but should also be able to support and be comfortable with women's categories as well. This person should have demonstrated experience in e-commerce art direction.
This position requires solid on-set photo shoot experience (product and model), and the ability to lead a set efficiently and effectively. The Art Director will work within the photo team in the Brooklyn-based studios and work under supervision of an Associate Creative Director.
Responsibilities:
? Creative preparation, art direction and management of photo shoots
- Manage photo shoot crew
- Bring creative ideas to maintain Gilt?s editorial homepage
? Maintain individual brand guidelines while aligning with Gilt?s image
? Follow style-guides established for product photography
? Inspire and motivate the team. The photo team has a high output of creative imagery and the art director must be able to lead the team, which includes photographers, photo techs, stylists, hair/make-up, and models, to produce fresh, amazing images on a daily basis
? Be hands-on and highly creative when concepting editorial and sale imagery. The right candidate will be able to utilize our props and environment to create unique and fresh images daily
? Huge attention to detail - product photography must be consistent and fall within established guidelines
? Manage timing of shoots to accomplish high shot counts and keep everything efficient
Qualifications:
? 4+ years of experience in art directing still life and/or RTW photo shoots with a focus on fashion, accessories and/or lifestyle product. Men's and e-commerce experience is a must.
? Must have a positive and professional attitude at all times
? Strong design background and eye for composition
? Strong time management, communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to multi-task
? In-depth knowledge of photographers and production processes
? Proficient in latest design tools (Adobe Creative Suite)
? BFA or equivalent in Graphic Design, Advertising or related subject
