Responsibilities:

Build and maintain a process to produce quality photos at scale for Demand Media properties and third-party publishers.
Build a community of freelance photographers and editors by working with internal recruitment department.
Work with product to develop a studio infrastructure and library that can grow with needed demands.
Establish a process to address photo rights issues.
Maximize ROI for content produced.
Set the overall guidelines for photographs, freelancers, in-house photo editors and work with channel editors to tailor guidelines for their specific needs.
Oversee Getty subscriptions and negotiate annual contracts.
Champion quality photography and visual storytelling.

Requirements:

Seven-plus years managing a photo library for a major online publisher
Experience building a photo library and process for an online outlet.
Experience with an at-scale model, content production workflow and publishing process.
Experience with managing creation cost.
Fluency in photo system technology.
Experience with a CMS is preferable.
Experience with multimedia storytelling.
Experience working with agencies and subscriptions.
Strong editorial judgment and organization.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Bachelor's degree.
