SummaryWorks as part of a team of photonic product engineers dedicated to improving Luxtera's technology platform. Designs, lays out, and validates photonic components, process control structures and integrated optoelectronic circuits. Defines test plans and tests optical/electrical performance of components and subsystems. Identifies process improvements to increase the system performance of optoelectronic components. Supports continuous improvement projects of silicon photonics products. Works closely with Electronics and Packaging design teams to identify component and system design trade-offs.
Work experience
In depth knowledge of integrated optics
Experience with semiconductor device modeling and optical modeling (FDTD, beam propagation) software tools
Experience with CAD tools for layout (Cadence)
Experience with standard optical test equipment (tunable lasers, detectors, optical spectrum analyzers)
Knowledge of microwave measurement techniques desirable
Knowledge of analog electronics and feedback control systems desirable
Experience performing optical transmission link characterization a plus
Must be a team player with excellent written and oral communication skills and creativity in problem-solving
Education Requirements
Ph.D. in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field
