PHP Architect and Team Lead in a Study Abroad Start-up Language International
THIS JOB HAS EXPIRED Language International is looking for a hands-on PHP architect and team lead to join our team in developing our study abroad site. Join us at Language International, a team of language and technology enthusiasts working together to build the best language course search site on the internet. Today, we serve over 50,000 students a year and manage Language International sites in thirty different languages.

You'll be leading our development team in an agile collaborative environment dedicated to developing the Language International booking platform, solving difficult issues related to building a multi-lingual website, and integrating the newest APIs and technologies. You will:
- Define the architecture of the site
- Plan sprints with our scrum team
- Coach the development team members
- Help hire and train new developers
- Help code the most complex features
Here is a list of absolutely necessary skills.
- Extensive experience architecting and building consumer-facing applications with PHP
- Experience of interest in leading and coaching team members
- Experience working with scrum or similar agile, collaborative process
- Computer Science degree or equivalent experience
- Experience learning a second language. Living / studying abroad experience is a plus
