The Web Developer / Designer will implement the user interface for a web-based application and community. The new site will be integrated into several other key systems and back office processes. The Developer will act as the lead for this externally facing CMS system and will be responsible for the theming, layout, content integration, and enhancement recommendations. The candidate should have a strong background in web site design and development. This background must include the ability to address HTML and scripting compatibility issues between different browsers. The candidate must be able to monitor industry trends, technologies, and standards and be able to research, recommend, and apply new technologies as necessary. The candidate should have good communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with the various team members. The candidate must also be able to work efficiently in both independent and collaborative situations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create design prototypes, including graphic design, site navigation, and layout & integration of content, for an externally facing site
Create visual concepts that match branding guidelines & style; ensure that content is easy to navigate and helps achieve the designed outcome.
Develop Drupal based site & community that will be tightly integrated with other web based applications.
Help to recommend and perform Drupal installs, maintenance, performance tuning, & recommend enhancements
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
5-8 years of website development and design experience
Advanced Experience with Drupal & Drupal theming
Advanced Experience & Proven Knowledge of JavaScript
Knowledge of Web APIs, XML, & JSON
Proven knowledge around CMS & related processes
Advanced knowledge of PHP, HTML, DHTML, XHTML
Advanced knowledge of CSS
Knowledge and demonstrated experience with cross-browser and cross-platform issues (IE, Firefox, Safari, etc.)
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors Degree or Equivalent
