DescriptionThis position is with vAuto, a business unit of Autotrader.com. The role is located at the vAuto R&D Facility in Austin, TX. This is a full-time salaried role. US citizens and permanent residents only.
Participate in the design of new and changing application features.
Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the assigned application(s), functional area(s) or project(s)
Maintain database performance through code reviews and tuning
Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution
Resolve database performance issues, database capacity issues, replication, and other distributed data issues
Qualifications
Bachelor degree in a technical major such as engineering or computer science, or equivalent job experience
Extensive experience with Oracle 10G or 11G (Oracle Certification a plus)
Strong experience with SQL, PL/SQL performance tuning
Ability to read, run and diagnose using AWR reports
Good working knowledge of stored procedures, triggers, functions, packages, partitioning, streams and indexes
Good working knowledge of UNIX shell scripting a plus
Experience installing, configuring, administering and tuning of Oracle 10g (or 11g) for high available databases
C# or Java experience a plus
