In partnership with the University of Southern California, 2U manages a high quality and innovative Masters Degree in Teaching (MAT) program delivered online. The Candidate Placement Manager is responsible for the management 2U services related to support of students as they progress through their degree by securing fieldwork placements each term. These services are provided in partnership with the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education.
The Placement Manager will work cohesively with Post Enrollment departments including Student Support and Academic Advising and is a critical component in executing 2U?s white glove service level. This position will require and will require extensive outreach and interaction with schools, districts, and other education agencies to fully support students? progression through the MAT.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Locate quality schools and autonomously make decisions regarding the placement of candidates into school relationships for observation work and student teaching assignments
Identify and interact with teachers and administrators to develop effective relationships with districts and local schools throughout the country
Work with other members of the Education Operations team around issues of certification and licensure, while reporting to the Director of Candidate Placement
Assist in all aspects of the recruiting, training, and management of high quality master teachers
Adjust to a growing department, with the potential to specialize in observation or student placement tasks
Things that should be in your background:
Bachelor?s degree required
Strong educational background, with teaching experience
knowledge of K-12 Education and the policies and procedures by which a student can receive their credential
Experience in higher education or non-profit work preferred
Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office, inclusive of Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Ability to develop quick rapport with administrators and teachers at the school and district level
Ability to work with a core team in a fast-paced environment
