Manages the production schedule and works with Operations team to ensure accurate and on-time release of products either to customer or into inventory. Will coordinate with Project Management team to develop work plan for product projects within Operations and ensure on-time delivery to Sales. Works to improve production efforts and efficiency, and maintain versatility within the department and provide a variety of reports including planning and delivery schedules. Responsible for maintaining standard laboratory operating inventory internally and working with Site Managers at external sites.

The person needs to be flexible and adapt to rapid changes within the market place and production floor, giving particular attention to projects or materials that are time sensitive and critical. This person needs to have strong communication and leadership skills. The person in this position will need to have good computer skills and experience with ERP systems.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:
Coordinate and plan production control and scheduling.
Provide materials planning for laboratory supplies and consumables.
Manage inventory levels for finished goods for Stemgent final products, intermediate products, WIP and raw materials.
Will work toward meeting shipping dates and delivery commitments within budgets.
Analyze production specifications and laboratory capacity data to make recommendations on lab processes, materials, equipment and human resource requirements.
Coordinate planning with project management team, operations, site management, sales, marketing, finance, quality assurance and purchasing to develop material requirement planning schedules and support new product introductions.
Maintain the production materials inventory at optimal levels by identifying obsolete, slow moving or excess materials.
Develop flexible scheduling plan to allow for dynamic changes within Sales and receipt of materials.
Coordinate and support order management duties and responsibilities. Ensure appropriate laboratory scheduling of incoming Purchase Orders.
Act as liaison between Project Management and Operations to ensure alignment of development, planning and delivery of product.
Work with Operations Director to ensure timely completion of all workorders and to complete work orders within assigned completion date.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE AND/OR EDUCATION REQUIRED:
B.S./B.A. in either Business Management or Engineering/Scientific field and 2-3 years experience in production control and inventory management. Experience with purchasing and logistics knowledge desired.
Experience within the biotechnology, medical or scientific fields desired.
Experience working with ERP systems and other computer systems.
Knowledge of and experience with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Lean Six Sigma, etc. preferred.
Strong relationship building experience.
Outstanding organizational skills, including ability to handle changing product parameters.
Strong computer skills (ERP system knowledge, MS Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.).
Independent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong written, logical, and interpersonal skills.
High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
Ability to work simultaneously on multiple diverse projects.
Results oriented individual comfortable working against aggressive deadlines.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to manage work done through others.
A positive attitude, patience, and persistence especially when working across Departments.
