Position Description: This position will be part of a small team tasked with defining and delivering the future architecture covering core platform, solutions strategy, and data platforms at Echopass. This position will demand critical thinking skills and the ability to work in agile and vague environments where iterations occur rapidly and regularly. The ability to take smart and educated risks is essential to the success of this position. Your background will show that it has encompasses strategy, delivery, and implementation in past roles. This position is located in Salt Lake City, UT.
Requirements:
BSCS/EE or other technically related field and 12-15 years of experience building resilient platforms, software as a service, architecture and integration, preferably in the telecommunications space leading complex initiatives
Past experience in architecture, design, and implementation of highly scalable and available solutions using PaaS services and other big data technologies
Prior experience with virtualization of infrastructure services (storage, server, network, messaging, database)
Excellent knowledge on server and storage platforms such as NetApp, IBM, EMC, Microsoft and Linux
Past experience with web application development using both relational and NoSQL database; modern application servers and front end technologies such as AJAX and HTML5
Responsible to develop, promote and build consensus around platform architecture for the product and platform teams.
Prior experience aligning platform architecture with security, data and CTI architects
Demonstrate knowledge of latest technologies as it relates to platform, integration and messaging trends throughout the software industry
Demonstrated ability to document architectural standards and decisions
Responsibilities:
Providing architecture consulting and authoritative technical guidance to executive leadership, management, and teams across Service Delivery
Leading collaborative, cross-functional technical efforts to design cloud-based solutions and resolve high-profile issues
Defining standard deployment architectures for multi-tenant cloud platforms and standard vertical architectures for end-to-end infrastructure systems
Developing cloud based technology strategies and execution plans
Collaborate on best practices for server implementation and deployment, network solution design, and storage architecture
Preferences:
Preferred technologies:
NoSQL, specifically Riak and Cassandra
HTML5 and upcoming standards such as WebRTC
Application delivery using NodeJS
Knowledge of VMWare. Xen, KDC or othr hypervisors
Distributed SIP platforms using Open source technology
