Summary:The Software Engineer will be a key member of the development team for 247?s application platform, tools, and products. The 247 Experience Engine ? the industry?s most advanced platform for conducting customer interactions that model the intelligence and personality of a trained customer service representative ? is used to automate high-volume customer service calls and web interactions in various vertical markets. Responsibilities include the development of speech self-service products, design and implementation of platform areas such as the IDE, runtime engine, and analytics system, and delivery of speech lifecycle tools and utilities. The role demands expert OO programming skills, web service development, working with relational databases, interest in consumer-facing applications, technical creativity and resourcefulness, and the ability to work with internal and external partners.
Responsibilities:
?Develop products, libraries and reusable components for automating common business processes and interaction types
?Write design specifications for various areas of 247?s speech and web application development platform and libraries
?Provide lifecycle tools to 247?s developer community to support tasks such as build and deployment, media management, analysis and reporting, testing and tuning
?Develop Eclipse plug-ins for the IDE to perform functions such as call flow definition, resource management, and configuration management
?Research emerging technologies related to speech and web applications, such as dialog management, speech analytics, multi-modal mobile applications, speech recognition engines, VoiceXML and other voice-related standards, and Natural Language Understanding
?Serve as escalation point for resolving production issues related to platform or product usage
Qualifications:
?Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
?3 or more years of enterprise software experience
?Experience in server / platform engineering
?Expert Java design and development knowledge
?Detailed understanding of web technologies, including web services and web application servers (J2EE)
Desired Background
?Experience in Eclipse IDE plug-in development
?Experience using MySQL for high-volume transactions.
?Use of Google Web Toolkit for production web applications
?Familiarity with speech application technologies (e.g., VXML, SRGS, ASRs, TTS, MRCP)
?Knowledge of IP telephony-related technologies (e.g., SIP, CTI)
?Experience using Microsoft SQL Server, Analysis Services, Integration Services, Reporting Services
?Familiarity solving human factors and usability issues
?Knowledge of database/data warehouse design and analytical reporting techniques
?Familiarity with mobile application development (e.g., iOS, Android)
