Platform Engineer Jawbone
It's the job of Technology R&D to push the boundaries of what technology can do, from military-grade audio to cutting-edge sensors. We spend our time exploring what's possible (and what might be), identifying marketable solutions, and prototyping new products.Currently, the CTO office at Jawbone is seeking a Platform Engineer to lead the specification, architecture, design and development of embedded firmware for Jawbone?s wearable mobile lifestyle products.
Core Responsibilities:
Architect the embedded firmware.
Drive integration of internal and external technologies into the system.
Make key technical decisions and lead design reviews.
Provide technical leadership throughout the complete product development cycle.
Develop criteria to qualify new technologies and algorithms for inclusion in product development.
Debug and help resolve performance and functionality issues in the complete system.
Manage and/or coordinate with a diverse set of cross-site technical contributors, including internal teams, sub-contractors and vendors to successfully transition the system into high-volume manufacturing.
Requirements:
8+ years of ?hands-on? experience in developing firmware for complex, power and cost-optimized consumer electronics systems consisting of digital, analog, RF, firmware and software components ? at least two systems that went to volume production.
Expert at board bring-ups, BSP development and driver development.
Expert at mapping algorithms into efficient implementations optimizing memory, processing and power requirements.
Must be a team player and possess excellent oral and written skills.
Must have demonstrated project leadership skills.
Bachelor?s or Master?s degree in CE,EE,CS or related discipline.
Additional Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Experience with Android OS and iOS preferred.
