Job Description
Trustwave, a leader in cloud-based compliance and information security solutions, announces an opening for a QA Engineer to join Trustwave's Platforms QA Engineering Team in Austin, Texas.
Trustwave?s Platforms QA Engineers test industry leading, comprehensive network security solutions. We work closely with several of Trustwave?s Software and Application Engineering teams across the US in order to deliver high quality, cutting edge technologies including our Unified Threat Management (UTM), Network Access Control (NAC), Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP), and Vulnerability Scanning (IVS) products.
The team focuses on a few different areas of test including general software quality assurance, test case automation, performance testing, technology research, test lab management, and security effectiveness testing.
Responsibilities:
Create, review, and execute test plans based on requirements and designs from both Project Management and software development teams.
Analyze and report test results, help diagnose root causes, and report defects as necessary.
Design, construct, and manage test environments with multiple internetworked devices.
Troubleshoot OS, network, and hardware related issues.
Automate test cases.
Requirements:
BS or higher in Computer Science, Information Security/Technology, or related technical discipline (or equivalent work experience).
Solid foundation in Unix/Linux and networking.
Experience testing network, security, or related technology products.
Basic scripting knowledge using Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby, or similar.
Additional skills (preferred, but not necessary):
Experience with software test automation.
Windows Active Directory experience.
Basic understanding of relational databases.
Experience with Virtualization/Hypervisors.
Ping pong, foosball, and mad gaming skillz.
General skills:
Self-starter with ability to prioritize many projects and problems independently, as they arise
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills a must
Occasional overnight travel to other Trustwave offices, domestic and international, may be required
