Plateau is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to join our Requirements Management team. Based out of our Headquarters office in Arlington, VA, the Business Analyst will participate in the Product Management division to interpret and validate Plateaus vision, business cases, and requirements.
Job Duties include:
o Work collaboratively with product managers, UI designers and development team to define the software product functionality
o Translate high-level requirements into detailed functional requirements specifications.
o Produce user stories, business rules, and data elements required to develop new features and modify existing products
o Document the system functionality through flow diagrams when necessary.
o Maintain requirements traceability and change requests
o Communicate the capabilities of the product suite to development engineers, test analysts, technical writers, trainers and other staff within the organization
o Use modern tools such as Wikis, forums, and blogs to communicate and document minutes, feature ideas and requirements.
o Examine direct and indirect competition, consumer applications and the software industry as a whole for concepts and features that can be used in the product.
Required Qualifications:
o Bachelors degree is required; degree in Computer Science, IT Management or Information Systems is preferred
o Minimum of 1 year experience analyzing and documenting low level software requirements and/or specifications
o Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate complex technical requirements to broad, diverse audiences
o Knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle.
o Experience working in fast-paced environments
o Excellent client and personal relationship skills; enthusiastic, diligent, and pleasant attitude
Preferred Qualifications:
o Experience in programmer/software developer role.
o Knowledge of SharePoint.
o Experience in Agile Development, Scrum, and User Stories.
o Interest in Web 2.0, Gov 2.0 and/or Enterprise 2.0
o Domain knowledge in e-Learning, analytics, business intelligence, performance, compensation, content and/or learning management systems.
