This key position works with Development Managers, Product Managers. Portfolio Project Managers and will be involved during all phases of a project ? Initiation, Planning, Execution, Closure and post-closure Analysis. The selected candidate will play key role in the areas of Portfolio Planning & Management, Process Transformation & Standards, and Project Governance.
Manage Software Development project activities on all project phases for multiple products in the company portfolio.
Project activities including portfolio planning, release planning, execution, testing and ship.
Work collaboratively with cross functional stakeholder, development manager, development team members, product architect to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery
Create, manage and track project including, but not limited to:
Detailed project plans
Project scope statements
Risk and issues logs o Status reports
Tailor project management, development and support processes to meet the needs of individual (new and/or ongoing) projects.
Manage the day-to-day activities of projects and staff; communicate with project teams as necessary to ensure project deliverables are on schedule and within cost parameters.
Communicate and collaborate with internal and external customers as needed in regards to project deliverables including managing expectations, presenting and interfacing with sponsors.
Make recommendations to management about schedules, prioritization and resource allocation with input from team members.
Provide ongoing project plan/status reporting, maintaining metrics and dashboard.
Provide input into strategic planning and asset creation processes.
Manage resource planning and organizational capacity planning.
Coach and train project team members on Software Development processes and best practices
Bachelor's Degree (Masters preferred) in Business Administration, Management, Commerce or similar concentration
5 years of experience in a technology environment, including 2-3 years of practical professional experience in project management for commercial enterprise software.
Fundamental understanding of software development
Proficient with MS Project or similar software and MS Office applications.
Experience working with cross-functional project teams.
Ability to adjust and set priorities to meet deadlines
Familiarity with Agile development a plus.
Experience with MS Team Foundation Server is a plus.
Experience working with off-shore teams a plus
