Scope of Position
The Senior HR Business Partner plays a key role fostering an employee-oriented culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and the ongoing development of a high-performing and engaged workforce. This position partners with a geographically dispersed client group, including international locations and reports to the Vice President of Human Resources. The ideal candidate is a well rounded, hands-on HR professional who is flexible, focused on bottom line results, and enjoys delivering in a fast-paced, global team environment.
Responsibilities
Provide the management team with coaching, tools and professional development to improve their ability to lead, develop and retain top performing teams
- Engage with client groups to gain the understanding and knowledge of business issues and opportunities.
- Regularly attend management staff meetings, communicate key HR initiatives or process changes; partner with managers to achieve the HR objectives
- Represent the business needs of client groups in HR program design and implementation while balancing needs of the entire organization.
- Partner with management to diagnose and clearly articulate the root causes of organizational performance issues. Develop and implements solutions.
- Coach leaders on strategies to enable high performing teams and address gaps; facilitate talent reviews, succession planning, performance management and focal processes, acquisition and development of top talent; conduct organizational effectiveness assessments
- Support performance management and disciplinary activities, constructing improvement plans and employee documentation in compliance with
- Partner with the VP HR and stakeholders to design and deliver internal training to strengthen core managerial skills
Design and manage employee recognition programs, employee assistance programs and due process approaches to employee complaints and problem solving
- Design and implement Vocera Employee recognition programs
- Design and deliver effective HR New Hire Orientation programs globally, partnering with the HR Administrator for execution.
- Serve as HR contact for employees with HR questions and issues or grievances; investigate and resolve employee grievances
- Lead managers and employees through steps in problem solving and change processes to achieve expected results
- Maintain accurate and timely records regarding employee actions and HR activities
Oversee and act as lead point-person for global Benefits Administration
- Work with the Vocera VP of HR, General Counsel, and Benefits Brokers to create, maintain and distribute legally required documents for assigned benefit plans. These include plan documents, summary plan descriptions and participant notices.
- Oversee certain compliance activities related to the benefit plans, and function as a subject matter expert for the organization.
- Manage the benefits invoicing process
- Provide support to the HR Administrator to answer employee questions, enroll them in appropriate benefits programs
- Oversee VISA and immigration activities and process
Education, Skills & Experience
- B.S./B.A. degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or other related field or equivalent
- 6+ years of human resources generalist and/or business partner experience, ideally in a mix of small- to mid-size and national or global organizations participating in: employee relations, communication with all levels, experience with a growing company, mergers/transition, performance management and disciplinary actions, compensation analysis, benefits, and willing to roll up the sleeves and complete all tasks
- PHR/SPHR certification is a plus
- Knowledge of State and Federal Wage, Employment Laws and HR policies and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and to identify and manage problems requiring escalation
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate sensitive and confidential matters effectively to all levels
- Must be able to work some evenings/weekends required if business needs dictate
